Clinical Case Submission
Call for cases - Online submission only:
The Emirates Diabetes & Endocrine Society (EDES) is pleased to announce the 1st edition of Expert Solutions to Complex Cases.
The Scientific Committee invites healthcare professionals to submit interesting, complex, and educational clinical cases related to diabetes and endocrinology for oral presentation during the forum.
Submitted cases should highlight a clear clinical challenge, diagnostic pathway, treatment decision, multidisciplinary approach, or important learning point that can support peer-to-peer discussion and clinical learning.
All case submissions must be completed through the online case submission portal only.
Case Themes
Clinical cases may be submitted under one of the following categories:
Pituitary
Thyroid
Parathyroid
Adrenal
Pancreas / Neuroendocrine
Diabetes
Hypoglycemia
Men & Women Health
Calcium / Osteoporosis
Others
Who can submit?
Clinical cases may be submitted by:
Endocrinologists
Diabetes specialists
Endocrine fellows
The presenting author must be involved in the care, review, or clinical discussion of the submitted case.
Submission Guidelines
All clinical cases must be submitted in English through the online submission portal.
Each submission must include the following sections:
1. Case title: A short and clear title that reflects the clinical focus of the case.
2. Case theme
3. Presenter requirements:
A. Please include:
- Full name
- Institution / organization
- City and country
- Email address
- Contact number
- Short biography of the presenting author
B. All accepted presenters must register for the forum.
C. Presentations must be delivered in English.
D. A certificate of appreciation will be provided to all selected presenters.
4. Case summary: Please structure the case using the following headings:
- Background - Briefly describe the clinical context and why the case is important.
- Case presentation - Describe the patient presentation, relevant history, examination findings, investigations, diagnosis, and clinical course.
- Management and Outcome - Summarize the treatment approach, key management decisions, follow-up, and patient outcome where available.
- Discussion / Learning points - Highlight the clinical challenge, key decision points, multidisciplinary considerations, and practical lessons from the case.
- Conclusion - Provide a short conclusion describing the key message from the case.
Important notes
- The case must be based on real clinical practice.
- Patient identity must be fully protected. No patient names, hospital numbers, photographs, or identifiable information should be included.
- Patient consent and institutional approval, where required, are the responsibility of the submitting author.
- The case should not be used for promotion of any product, device, or commercial service.
- The Scientific Committee reserves the right to edit minor language issues for clarity, where needed.
- The Scientific Committee reserves the right to make the final decision on case acceptance, presentation format, and scheduling within the program.
Important dates
- Case submission deadline: 08 August 2026
- Presenter acceptance announcement: 15 August 2026
Review and Selection process
All submitted cases will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee.
Cases will be selected based on:
- Relevance to case theme and practice
- Clinical complexity or educational value
- Clarity of the case presentation
- Quality of discussion and learning points
- Potential to generate meaningful discussion during the forum
Case Presentation Format
Selected cases will be presented during the forum.
Presenters will receive further instructions from the Secretariat regarding presentation format, slide preparation, timing, and session details after acceptance.
